Polina Ionina is an innovative movement theater maker, director, and actor. Visceral, simple and theatrical, her work is characterized by the unique methodology she employs with her dancer/actors. Polina is a founder of The How.
Polina’s influences come from spending time at the Grotowski Institut in Poland, studying movement with Przemek Blaschak; in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan studying movement, meditation, and Sufi Whirling; studying improvisation with master clown and improviser, Jeff Wirth, and working with Theater Group Dzieci in NYC.
Polina’s focus is working with the body: to release tension, to connect to intuition, to create magic, to express oneself fully.
Through improvisation, movement releasing techniques, and breath work, she will guide you to build a strong connection and relationship with the body.
